Exploring Antiques in Kansas

What I found at an antique mall near the city.

The Kansas City area seems to have a thing for Tudor-style homes, and they seem to be most popular on the Kansas side to the southwest where property values rise significantly.  One street I drove down had nothing but new, adorable Tudor-style homes on it.

I traveled these streets again the other day to visit Mission Road Antique Mall in Mission on the Kansas side of the city.  Sniffing out things to do around the city, this place caught my eye right away – it looked like the perfect place to browse for nostalgic vintage things!

It was snowing that day, the sky cloudy and wind whipping.
Let the good times roll!

There’s a magic in the presentation of things.
Cute green animals! Adorable!

I loved exploring all the textures: fur, lace, velvet, and many more.

One booth that caught my eye was full of gorgeous white linens!

And my very favorite of the day was this incredible booth.  Moroccan lanterns, dried hydrangeas, moss everywhere… yes.  I wanted to live here.

I spent the most time browsing this rare book collection.

…but escaped without spending a fortune.  Close call!

What a great place!  I love the feeling that all kinds of beautiful things could be waiting for discovery… just around the next display.  At Mission Road Antique Mall, it’s certainly true.
