Autumn fun in Charlotte after sunset.
I love a good fall fair. The smell of hay, the rickety rides, the noise and commotion, all together under a (hopefully blue) autumn sky. At almost the end of October, many state fairs were long past. But there was one still up in Huntersville this weekend. So after work on a Friday, under the bluest sky that could be hoped for, I set off for the fair.
I used to love the fair for the rides – I must be old now, because my favorite part is exhibits. This cute petting zoo featured goats, sheep, and llamas.

The days are growing short now. The sun set early on us all, but the fun didn’t stop at dusk. The bright lights fired up the night, and when I left, it seemed like the party was just getting started.

Bonus: this kid did NOT want to pet the sheep, but LOVED throwing the basket of ping-pong balls. What a cutie!
