I’m in Maryland, and it’s summer.
Along the highway, the trees are so lush they’re hanging close to the road. The sky is pure blue and the temperature a pleasant seventy-five degrees (I imagine if the state was personified, Maryland would have its hands on its hips like “That’s all you get!”). I was in Hagerstown, Maryland for a few weeks last spring and it’s all coming back, how much I like this place.
On my flight yesterday I was fortunate to find a window seat! The lady beside me looked like she was judging me a little, but the views on the flight were too good. I wanted to share them with you here.
Below, I started from Orlando, all hazy sunrises and palm trees. The air is a constant mix of rain and sun.
We flew along the coast until the landscape changed, and the forests of the Northeast appeared…
