Houston Large and Small

Yesterday I went out exploring in Houston… the weather was overcast, but gloomy November-ish skies are perfect for photography practice!

I went to the park at the museum district and walked along the golf course under the mossy oaks.

In some pine straw, I found tiny mushrooms growing.

Even in November, the bees and butterflies were hard at work in the gardens.

In an expansive garden of roses, this one was my favorite. The colors blended together as softly as a dream.

In another part of the garden, I was fascinated by these elegant, dangerous curves.

I left the garden to explore the cityscape: downtown Houston. Everything is closed on Sundays in Houston, even on Main Street, even though it’s in the top 5 largest American cities.

Large and small, Houston is one awesome town. I barely scratched the surface yesterday, and I can’t wait to see more.
